How cool is this? The Cradle chair by Richard Clarkson was inspired by research on Autism and children with Rhythmic Movement Disorder (RMD). The project was done in collaboration with Grace Emmanual, Kalivia Russel, Eamon Moore, Brodie Cambell, Jeremy Brooker, Joya Boerrigter at Victoria University of Wellington.
“We had a strong focus creating a solution for sufferers of RMD but the chair is not exclusively for them and will bring relaxation, comfort and calmness to anyone.”
The chair adheres to the concept “if you design for the extremes and the middle will sort itself out”. Cradle is made from reusable and environmentally friendly raw materials–that includes the glue used to form the initial plywood layers.
Quiet Lunch is a grassroot online publication that seeks to promote various aspects of life and culture with a loving, but brute, educational tinge. When we say, “Creative Sustenance Daily,” we mean it.
