Italian artist, Benedetta Bonichi, aggressively escapes the cliched hokiness that easily ruin X-ray based works. Bonichi’s work brings emphasis to biological structure while downplaying the significance of outward appearance. In some cases, Bonichi even plays mad scientist, creating portraits of mythical creatures that look as if they were pulled right from a science fiction novel.
