Part of the Waiting Land series in Southern Italy, Basic Alchemy is a minimalistic installation with a rich and intricate concept. Created by Berlin based Karen Lohrmann & Stefano de Martino, Basic Alchemy‘s intention is best explained by the duo’s statement:
“Basic Alchemy refers to the emblematic element through which radical transformations of the environment—culturally, physically, politically—take place. Mostly under the radar, the universal concrete column produces cubic meters and collateral, shelter and luxury, slum and real estate. It is a passport to realizing dreams and fantasies on a global scale. It is the essence of bubbles and crashes.”
