Ivan Alifan‘s work, writhing and moaning in an ambiguous goo, stirs the carnal pot through an underlying stream of sexual subtext; the resulting dialog is mesmerizing. Luckily for us, we’re not reaching. Alifan freely admits the venereal concept:

“These portraits are not an attempt to render physical characteristics  but rather create a language of underlying sexual subtexts. Using ambiguity as a tool demands the viewer’s exploration of their psyches and provokes self awareness.”
