The Tale of Bastet.

The Bastet series are the first pieces to emerge from the new collaboration between Michael Rosner of Eye Level Studio, and photographer David Gueringer. When we first laid eyes on the Bastet series, we thought it was a well done photoshop job. But as we delved deeper into the project we realized that the series was a body painter’s wet dream. After marveling at Gueringer’s photography, we then became enthralled with Rosner’s skill. The series’ name and imagery pays homage to the Egyptian feline goddess, Bastet.

While we are presenting them as a duo, both artists are their own awesome entity. David Gueringer is working on a personality portrait series named A Curious Collection of Uncommon Individuals and Rosner will be one of eight body painters from around the world participating in the upcoming show “Painted Alive”, opening April 5th at Gallery ML in Philadelphia.
