Take the Good with the Bad: Emmys Red Carpet Breakdown.

The Emmys have come and gone; now it’s time for Quiet Lunch to switch it up and play fashion police. The stars were lacking luster that night with only a hand full of actresses standing out- whether they wanted to or not.  So we’ve compiled a brief list of the good and downright horrible. Let’s take a look.

The Good.

Julianna Margulies in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture.

Julianna looks stunning in couture, balancing her couture gown with a simple make up and jewelry.

 Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhuillier.

Ginnifer has a natural knack for the red carpet, always finding the perfect dress, and this year she strikes again.

 January Jones in Zac Posen.

Whereas we can all disagree on the caliber of  January Jones acting, there is no doubt she’s stunning in Zac Posen.

 Edie Falco in Stella McCartney.

Designer Stella McCarntey might as well be synonymous with Hollywood red carpet events. Her dresses are sexy without being scandalous and offer a sophistication that teases the eye.

Elisabeth Moss in Dolce and Gabbana.

Mad Men’s Elisabeth Moss won my heart as the courageous Peggy  and this dress is a testament to the spark she carries off the set of the AMC series.

Amy Poehler in Stella McCartney.

Amy, please forgive me for placing you in this category, I love you and almost everything you do, but there is no excuse for this ill- fitting dress.

 Ashley Judd in Carolina Herrera.

Not sure what I hate more, the bow on the back of the dress or the nest on top of her head.

 Phoebe Price.

Who is Phoebe Price?

I checked numerous fashion sites and could not find the name of the designer. But considering the attention that this attire has received it’s probably best for all involved.

 Connie Britton in Andrew Gn.

Connie and Amy are tackling the same fight. We all love a dress with a bit of sparkle, but the most important thing to remember is the fit.

Julianne Moore in Dior Couture.

I’m not sure why I don’t like this dress, but I don’t and I’m willing to be biased for absolutely not reason.

I expect more from you Julianne Moore.
