Jesse Clegg has music running through his veins. With his father, Johnny Clegg, being a renowned musician, Jesse is an heir to a musical throne. But while this prince is cognitive of his own privileged upbringing, his approach to his craft is similar to that of an eager student. With Jesse, there is no sense of entitlement–just a glaring hunger to become the best artist that he can be.
We caught up the South African singer during October’s CMJ Marathon. It was Clegg’s first appearance at the famed music festival and he was more than happy to take sometime to discuss his music, his inspiration, and what he has learned from growing up in the industry.
