It has been quite some time since we last visited Kates-Ferri Projects and with the fall art season now in full swing, we made it our business to check out their new group exhibition, Permanent Instability. Featuring an intimate creative cast that includes Guillermo Garcia, Martín Touzón and Saskia Fleishman, the show occupied both Kates-Ferri’s main gallery and B-side. This outing only further proves the gallery’s knack for cohesion. The very physical glitching of Garcia’s industrial edge and Fleishman’s rural serenity are looped in together by Touzón’s radiant series of irregular but somewhat organic shapes and fluorescent hues.

Permanent Instability truly lives up to its name, giving the audience a vivid reminder that things rarely ever stay the same and the narrative can be very unreliable. It almost all goes over your head. Upon walking into the space, the viewer doesn’t really notice that something is off. It is a pleasant trick played on the eyes once you discover the mastery behind these illusions.

Permanent Instability is on display until November 8th. Please be sure to visit Kates-Ferri Projects sooner than later!
