A screening will be held at BAM for the documentary, The Russian Winter, starring former Refugee Camp member, John Forté. Part of BAMcinématek and TransCultural Express series Russian Cinema Now, The Russian Winter shows Forté on a special tour through Russia with Petra Nemcova, Natasha Bedingfield, Raekwon, and Brian Satz. Also undertaking a humanitarian mission, Forté takes time to reflect on his work and life after being convicted for a drug charge in 2000.
Festivities will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2013.The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Forté and a live music performance in BAMcafé, featuring Russian hip hop artist SunSay and friends. Get tickets → here. ←
