As the summer comes to an end we find ourselves reminiscing about the good times–one of them being our recent staff outing to Afropunk. The gang was in full effect, snapping flicks and taking names. Afropunk is one of today’s fastest growing music festivals but it felt more like a summer family BBQ being that so many friends of Quiet Lunch were performing. The Tontons, Melo-X, Cakes Da Killa… all of their faces beamed with pride that day.
We also caught some fresh faces on stage. LOLAWOLF, fronted by Zoë Kravitz, treated the audience to a solid performance. Unlocking the Truth, one of punk’s rising bands, also did their thing. And, as usual, the crowd looked to be having a splendid time.
Check out some Day 2 snapshots from our head photographer Michael Della Polla.
Quiet Lunch is a grassroot online publication that seeks to promote various aspects of life and culture with a loving, but brute, educational tinge. When we say, “Creative Sustenance Daily,” we mean it.
